Gas prices, Property Taxes and Iraq

Petro fuel prices has been dropping in New Jersey. A gas station in Belleville posted $1.97 on regular. A gas station in Califon posted $2.19 on diesel. Some relief.

There will be a property tax relief up to 20%. But the program will cost more. The cost in 2004 was $1.34 billion. In 2007, it is $2.05 billion. Will there be relief? I will know for sure when the tax credit arrives in my mail box. Maybe some relief.

Mr. Bush is asking another $100 billion for Iraq and the fight for global terrorism on top of the $70 billion already being sought. New Jerseyans will work more hours, may be a second job. Maybe more health insurance premiums or out of pocket Medicare prescription drug payment. Maybe freeze building schools for our children. The price of freedom is expensive. Sigh.

For the men and women out there defending our freedom, my family's freedom, you have my outmost respect. You are in our prayers.
