To Run A Swiming Pool

To run or open a pool is a fit for the novice. What I learned is to close the pool by a professional dude. Because, it requires the pipes drain without the the water. You need that. Otherwise, cracks and leakage throughout your pipes is a nightmare. It is quite expensive. Let the professional close your pool. Opening it is optional to your abilities. I call it the macho image. I did quite well in the two season. But somehow I forgot in the third to tighten the pressure switch and it came loose and shattered  by the shear force of the water. Manual is invaluable. It identifies the part that is relevant. The pool store is open on Sunday and was able to procure the part. I replaced today and it works. The lesson of the day involves diligence and perseverance. With a lot of thought (and not being stupid). Bon Jrz.

A Greener Earth

During a weekend dinner about a month ago, my household was discussing about how we dispose food scraps and bio-degradable substance instead of dumping into the garbage bin. It was no brainer. A compost pit in our backyard. But, how this behavior will have some positive impact to the environment. Then, everyone gave their opinion. Abbey proposed saving or preserve landfill. We agreed. We collected a month worth of data. Food scraps and bio-degradable to a bin and garbage (non food scraps and non-biodegradable) to separate bin. I weighed food scraps and bio-degradable daily and recorded them. A month worth of data was recorded. By extrapolating the data, our household saves about 8500 pounds (3855.5 kg) a year of landfill.
Bon Jersey!

I posted some pictures of cherry blossom in New Jersey. But, it is about the Newark area. It has been so stereotyped that it is ugly and unsafe. It was in the '80s. I agree. It has come a long way. Every city has its own negative impression. But Newark is not superlative. It has rescind its rank to other cities. Visit the city. Bon jersey.
